Celebrating 25 Years….

1994… the year the Chunnel opened, ‘Friends’ hit our TV screens and Wet Wet Wet’s ‘Love Was All Around” us; Blakemere Village opened its doors as a family attraction with just sixteen Courtyard stores. Three of those businesses are still going today – Salsa the jewellery store, traditional sweet shop ‘The Chocolate Box’ (now Nanna Parry’s) and The Wendy House card shop!

Today, we have grown to become a collective of over 30 independent stores with long-established events, whilst still maintaining a family-friendly feel. Of course, we wouldn’t still be here without the support of the local and wider communities of Northwich who are regular visitors to the Village, whether it’s attending an event or popping in for a gift or a coffee – the continued support is noticed and much appreciated.

Here at Blakemere we love to celebrate, and this year will be one long party of events and activities planned throughout the year as we enjoy our 25th year here in business at the Village.

Our ever-popular events include the Gin & Fizz festival on Friday and Saturday the 7th and 8th June, the much-loved Countryside Fair on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st July and the magical Christmas Woodland will be back every weekend in December in the run up to Christmas.

And…. brand new for this year includes bubblelicious St Luke’s Hospice Bubble Rush on 19th May, an outdoor cinema experience in August and not forgetting our furry friends St Luke’s Hospice Woof Mudder is planned for September!

February half-term will see the first of our children’s trail, Superhero and Princess kick off and this year we are launching a loyalty card with 4 for the price of 3 on our children’s trails. Pick up your card today from the Visitor Information Centre.
